Let's pretend that it is. I got introduced to Japanese culture through the intravenous drip of gameboy I had all throughout my youth. I am going to attempt to name some favorite ゲム here. Don't laugh. I can't describe things with any finesse yet -- and be prepared for excessive use of すごい。

すきなゲームは高橋哲哉（たかはしてつや）のゼノギアス（Xenogears) です。このゲムはちょっとふるいです。でも、このゲームのものがたりはおもしろいとかなしいですよ. ゼノサガも stupendiferousです.

スダ５１のKiller 7はみやびやかです。A plain ol' masterpiece. And for a ニンテンド system no less.
しんめがみてんせい：ノクターン(Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne)もほんとにすばらしいです。九がつにソニのPSPのしんめがみてんせい: ペルソナ 2をかりました。 このゲムもすごいです。。。

Shin Megami Tensei series is amazing! (I haven't gotten through Persona yet though...)
ありがとうございます for you comment and the recommendations! Sorry this reply is kind of late, but I did really appreciate your advice. I'll have to check those books out when I have time!
ReplyDeleteI've always meant to get into Shin Megami Tensei and I actually almost bought Persona 4 over あきやすみ (fall break). I take it you'd recommend these games, then?

ReplyDelete。。。but I can understand why some people don't "click" with RPGs, so I always hesitate to recommend them. Grinding is part and parcel of the experience.

ReplyDeleteゼノギアスおもしろそうですね。わたしはドラゴンクエストがすきです。The game you are playing looks very interesting! I used to play video games a lot when I was growing up in JP. My favorite is Dragon Quest series. Have you ever played any of them? I didn't know there is a Gaming Humanities Course. Sounds cool!!!
